Bunker2 DatacenterNeed to survive a zombie outbreak and still be able to serve up your e-commerce site? If you’re in the UK, The Bunker Secure Hosting Limited will soon have the datacenter for you.

Data Center Knowledge has the details on the 130,000 square foot datacenter, Bunker2, that the outfit is building at its delicious-sounding Sandwich, Kent site. Besides security that would make spies nervous, there are energy efficient features too:

While security is typically the key attraction for data bunkers, the company says the design for The Bunker 2 will emphasize energy efficiency and aims to achieve a high BREEAM rating – short for BRE Environmental Assessment Method, the UK equivalent of the LEED standard for green buildings in the U.S. The building will use a low modular design with facilities cut into the surrounding landscape and featuring grass roofs. Plans call for six modules that are each 2,200 square meters (about 24,000 square feet).

The Bunker2 webpage offers more details on the facility like high density blade zones along with “random patrols with guard dogs” and the bulletproof glass-encased guard booth.
